Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.
The Yiewsley & West Drayton Foodbanks are looking for people to volunteer in the following roles:
Help at a foodbank centre
Meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.
The Yiewsley & West Drayton Foodbanks needs volunteers during the day on
- Mondays from 13:30 to 16:30 at St Matthews’s Church Centre, and
- Thursdays from 09:30 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 16:30 at Bell Farm Christian Centre.
At the moment we are particularly looking for people who would be happy to work with the clients that use the foodbank. Full training would be provided.
Our clients speak many languages, sometimes we need help to communicate. If you speak Eastern European, any Indian languages, Kurdish, Romanian, Arabic and could help up, please get in touch.
