Give Help

Volunteer

Do you find yourself with free time, and would like to help us? Read on...

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Help at one of our foodbank centres

Meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.
The Yiewsley & West Drayton Foodbanks needs volunteers during the day on:

  • Mondays from 13:45 to 16:15 at St Matthew’s Church
  • Tuesdays  from 09:45 to 13:15 at Bell Farm Christian Centre
  • Wednesdays from 09:45 to 12:15 at the Living Room, Crown Church, Cowley Road
  • Thursdays from 09:45 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 16:15 at Bell Farm Christian Centre
  • Fridays from 11:45 to 14:15 at St Matthew’s Church

At the moment we are particularly looking for people who would be happy to work with the clients that use the foodbank. Full training will be provided.

Collect from supermarkets

We have collection points in a variety of locations in Hillingdon Borough, and at the moment, we have enough volunteers to cover this. However, if you think you would be interested in the future, please contact us.

Processing donations

Your donations at supermarkets are collected every Tuesday Morning, and then we process them at St Matthews Church Centre in Yiewsley from 09:00, for about 2 hours.

Translators

Our clients speak many languages, sometimes we need help to communicate. Can you help?

If you are able to help, please email us.
